Don’t set comfort settings to maximum

I was curious about lumbar support so I turned it to maximum. What a mistake that was!

It made my back very sore and so I turned it off and my back slowly got better. If you are curious you experience many things that you don’t necessarily need to experience.

Yet for some strange reason, I am glad that I have experiences even if they turn out to be painful. Many experiences turn out to be joyful and you while you can minimize pain, you will also minimize your joy.

Don't set comfort settings to maximumIt makes sense doesn’t it that if a little is good, more is better? Well you learn with experience that is not the case. What seems to work best in life is to be balanced. Not going to far in any direction seems to be the most healthy and happy way to be.

I wonder sometimes about people who hold extreme positions in life. I used to hold extreme positions in thinking life was black and white, right and wrong. I don’t see the world in those terms anymore. I see things in terms now of what is the merit of something, and it is helpful? To me, being helpful seems much more practical than some abstract sense of right and wrong.

Now I’m not saying that some things are not right and wrong. I’m saying that it is very hard to prove it, and generally not worth the trouble. People have to come to whatever realizations they have by their own path.

For example, I would never hurt anyone and I don’t want anyone to hurt me. However I would never try to create a rule or tell someone who says you shouldn’t hurt someone. If someone has learned the lesson of love then you don’t need to say it. If they haven’t learned the lesson of love, they won’t believe you.

What is the lesson of love? To me, when you love yourself you learn that hurting is unnecessary and counterproductive. So naturally you don’t want to hurt others. Love comes first through our own connection to it, and it flows to others. Love is not putting people in situations where they lose no matter what they choose. Love is finding a way to allow people to grow and being comfortable with mistakes.

Learning lessons is great, and the best lesson to learn is love.
